rain check 可不是泡了雨水的支票，最初是指戶外比賽或表演因雨延期時，發給觀
眾日後觀賞的票證。或是在大拍賣期間特價商品售完時，發給顧客留待下次機會以
同樣優惠條件購買的憑證，所以rain check指保留權利。口語上引申到朋友邀約的時
候，如果因故無法應邀而婉謝，但希望保留機會，改天再去，就可以這麼說：

     → Can you give me a rian check on that?
     → May I ask for a rain check on that?
     → I'd like to take a rain check on that?

實用對話：Can you give me a rain check? (可以改日應邀嗎？)

Mini Talk 1
Lily: I'm sorry, Amy, I can't go to the movies with you this Saturday.
        (Amy, 不好意思，這星期六我不能跟你看電影了。)
Amy: That's OK. I'll give you a rain check.
         (沒關係。握可以改天請你。)

Mini Talk 2
Lily: I have to cancel our dinner date tomorrow. Something's coe up. I'd like to take a rain check.
        (我得取消我們明天晚餐約會，因為臨時有事。我們可以另外再約時間嗎？)
Amy: Oh, I see, but the dinner will be on you.
         (喔，知道了，不過換你請客喔！)
