【TOEIC多益單字加油站】如何增加多益單字量~從生活中學多益高頻單字及片語

在公共場所裡，大家很常看到這禁止吸菸標誌，你是否有曾注意其英文翻譯呢？其中有一個英文單字 liable，是多益考試的超級好麻吉～即多益閱讀測驗的高頻單字，今天我們就來學學這個重要多益單字與其片語吧！

1. beV liable for + N. （法律上）有義務的

If we lose the lawsuit, we will be liable for the costs of the whole trial.（如果我們輸了這場訴訟，就得承擔打官司的所有費用。）

2. beV liable to + V. / N. 易患⋯的；易⋯的；可能的

The areas of town near the river are liable to flooding.（這城鎮靠近河流的地方很容易淹水。）

My supervisor is liable to lose his temper.（我的主管很容易發脾氣。）

3. beV liable to + N. 應受罰的；應服從的；應付稅的

Failure to comply with any of those provisions will render building workers liable to imprisonment.（若無法遵守這些條款的任一條將會使建築工人被判有期徒刑。）

Anyone found smoking in the train is liable to a maximum fine of NT$1,500.（任何被發現在列車中抽菸的人，將會被罰最多台幣1500元。）
