【多益常見混淆字彙】 different、indifferent

英文單字總是背了就忘嗎？

1.         different (adj.) 不同的 = disparate, distinct, divergent, diverse

The two sisters are very different in characteristics, although they are identical twins.

雖然這兩姐妹是同卵雙胞胎，但她們個性非常迥異。

2.         indifferent (adj.) 冷漠的 + to N.

（in=not, 任何事情對你並沒有不同，表示你不太在意。）= apathetic, aloof,      unconcerned

He found it very hard to teach a class full of indifferent students.

他發現教一個充滿冷漠學生的班級很困難。

The newly-hired financial specialist has helped the major corporation earn a(n) ------- sum of money.

(A) necessary         

(B) sentimental      

(C) indifferent       

(D) significant

這新雇用的財務專員幫助了這間大公司賺進一筆可觀的錢。

(A) 必要的

(B) 多愁善感的
